WWII Video (Another Francis Original)

So.. Here's a video I made last semester for History: West and the World class, we were creating different pieces for a WWII exhibit, I decided to make a movie, naturally.

Now this video was not exactly my vision, but the response has been good on it, so I'm willing to share it with ya'll. I wrote the script in, well I wrote it quickly in the morning of a Saturday last fall. The message is as clear as I could make it with voluntary actors from school, in my basement standing against a wall. The setup was interesting actually, I wish I had taken a picture of it, a 20" TV in the corner connected to my camera. My tripod and camera with a sketchy directors chair, tape all over the ground where I had to make sure I kept my stuff on because my dad likes to move everything, it's bloody annoying. I had a couch at one end of the room where my actors sat, and then two 1000 watt construction lights beside me facing the wall.

I sat under the camera, with a little remote, I click record and then I stopped it, I repeated this more times than I can remember, and in between each record I would yell at the actors or get up and motivate/encourage them to get into character (which was just to be themselves but with passion..) I believe we did three shooting sessions to create this. I cut out a lot of clips, I mean a lot... The song is by Explosions in the Sky, it was the best choice for length and flow.

Oh and the TV had what the camera was recording in real time so that the actors could see where they were on the screen. It worked very well.

A big thanks to Dominick Dekauwe, Dana Kissondath, Gordy Leslie, Ryan Seager, Herman Singh, Sam Hutchinson, Mike Henry, and Stephen Dustan for being my willing actors! No thanks to Rachel Laird who told me she wanted to come to my basement dressed as a teacher and just be in the video alone in my basement with her and the camera.. She would have been awesome too though.

Apparently, Maxine Schmidt is smooth, this is something I cannot confirm at this point in time, but soon.

Please make sure you watch it to the end if you enjoy it!! It's not done at the picture!!

The picture near the end is not the END. It's just a moment of silence. The video continues shortly afterwards.

Mid Terms Are In.. Thank God, Check Out This Beauty

This stop motion film is absolutely beautiful. I just saw it on StumbleUpon and I fell in love, it's ridiculously unique and creative. Great use of everything in it.

If you don't like this film, you're a deranged mental person with a stone heart. You should get checked out asap.

Oh and I've got an update for you all, I'm going to have my art and original content soon to flood the blog with.. It's just a matter of getting an open slot of time where I don't want to sleep! Which is almost never, so I'm sorry if you're dying without my spontaneous photography and bizarre videography.. They are on their way.

Wake Me Up When Mid-Terms End..

I have soo much content to put up, but no time, and I don't want to just throw up photos without any text.  So I'm going to try and do small posts in the midst of studying my face off and pumping out assignments for mid-term marks (the ones that universities base their offers on after april 24th? is it? yeah those marks..)

I'd like to direct any of my scarce and random traffic to Liam's blog to grab the new A-Trak album, I haven't had a listen but I will this weekend -> Liam's blog Common Ventures: The World Is Yours

To go along with the title, remember this hilarious video+song! Haha, this guy is a doofus.

Here's the latest of what I call Sethnacred-age which is tunage given to me by Riah and therefore she gets the cred if anybody likes it, so it's this weeks Sethnacred-age

It's an acoustic mash-up, I think it takes a lot of skill to mash up acoustic songs to make them sound good, but you can be the judge of these ones, leave me a comment if you feel so inclined.

Until Mid-Terms conclude, farewell.

A Story to Brighten Your Spirits

I found this on my travels through the vast network of jokes materials. I say you check it out because it is hilarious. The title explains it well, you might learn a thing or two about what should be on a wedding menu-- and what shouldn't.

Oh No.. It's Back

Chunk of plastic
So vital to our 21st life
I should be ecstatic
But I'd much rather have a knife

A variable cost
The perk isn't tangible
It's money lost
Bell is an animal without a cause

It's causing communication madness
The world's too close, don't you see
It brings my wallet sadness
But at least it's gluten free

Ladies, please, my phones getting old so it can only handle so many messages and calls at once.  You'll have to just chill on the speed dial for a while.

Nike.. Cherry Blossoms?

Straight up, the only person I know who would and maybe could rock these, is Thomas.  Tom Poulos that is.  He'd find them in the bysize section at coast and then label them his new wake skate shoes.

Other than that.. These kicks are wack.

A.P.C. x Nike

Oh A.P.C. always with clean styles, the swoosh adds a bit of flavor, and of course is a classic symbol.  I'm feeling the blues.

Primary colours, clean simple and elegant.

A Guy Named-- This Isn't Where I Parked My Car..

Stop smoking, you, dumb, ass.

My buddy Liam has moved his archive of, goslettness to a new domain.  I believe he has hired a crew of writers, to give you guys EVEN more craziness from as many aspects of life that, a guy named liam can find.

You are guaranteed to have a good time there, I've got mad respects for Liam, even though he has caused me to have minor brain damage once, still love the kid.  Plus he's got great flow.

Warning: Following his blog could cause you to become a hypebeast, in that case, go with it, get some fresh kicks, hit up stussy, and get a bluesy hat.  Yeah bluesy, it's a word.

bluesy |bloōzee|
plural noun
1 [treated as sing. or pl. ] (often the bluesy) melancholic music of black American folk origin, typically in a twelve-bar sequence. It developed in the rural southern U.S. toward the end of the 19th century, finding a wider audience in the 1940s as blacks migrated to the cities. This urban blues gave rise to rhythm and blues and rock and roll.
• [treated as sing. ] a piece of such music : we'll do a bluesy in C.

The Foreign Harbinger

In my politics class I was given the position of media for an international relations simulation, I took my audio and visual knowledge to a new level to develop a resource for the class.  Basically every student was a country and they had to interact as the leaders of the countries would in reality, students had to represent what their country stood for.

My job was to be the media, and I really took my job seriously, I played a typical biased news station.  I chose to present happenings in the simulation however I pleased.  I did just that, so I'm sharing it with you for the chance that it might interest you.  It's just my school project really.
Here's the screen shot of the blog where I reported all my information.

Wag Your Tongue To Bookmark My Blog!!!

This is hilarious, I can't wait until I see people in the library shaking their heads and squinting at their computers to surf the web!  Ridiculous, people seem to be taking every hollywood techno-concept and turning them into reality.

You've seen Iron Man?  You liked his windows didn't ya? Yeah the ones that had words and images moving around nicely but not blocking his view, that exists.  It's called OLED.

Organic Light Emitting Diodes (I think that's right) it's pretty sweet, brighter and crisper than anything we have right now.  Viewable from any angle with perfect quality,

I'm Not Sick But I'm Not Well | April's Here

So I'm not too sure why this video and song signal the beginning of April.  Maybe I watched it for the first time in April of a past year.  I'm really not quite sure.

This is one of the videos that inspired me and also attracted me even more to videography.  The video was all done in one shoot, all the people in it work at Collegehumour.com and Vimeo which is run by College Humour.  The song is Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger, I might upload it for you if I get bored when I'm writing my essay tonight, we'll see.  Anyways enjoy, today was nice, spring's here, April's going to fly by.
